Earlier this year, Elizabeth Yoshimi Nagagata, 62, a teacher at White Oaks Elementary School in Fairfax County, was arrested and charged after investigators received a referral in April regarding an educator who was caught assaulting a student at school.
According to investigators from the Fairfax County Police Department, the investigation found that between September 2023 and April 2024, Nagagata allegedly assaulted three students on separate occasions.
In June, Nagagata was charged with seven counts of simple assault.
The nature of the assaults were not disclosed by the police.
On Wednesday, Oct. 30, police say that detectives determined that White Oaks Elementary Assistant Prince Dana Chen, 42, of Fairfax, was aware of the allegations and failed to report them to Child Protective Services or the department.
Chen was charged with failure to report, issued a summons, and later released.
